Aging is associated in changes in the gut microbiota (GM) composition and in memory deficits. The link between the two phenomena are currently not well understood. Our project aims at filling this gap by performing colonisation of young adult mice with an aged GM and of aged mice with a young GM to better understand the role of the aged GM for age associated memory decline while dissecting the mechanisms at play.
