Project context and summary: The objective focused on the regulatory dimension of Y. pestis microevolution. Gene regulation may also contribute to host adaptation/specialization during evolution of pathogenic bacteria, which cannot be inferred from DNA alone. To reconstruct this evolutionary trajectory, we therefore performed RNA-Seq analysis on different Y. pestis lineages.
