Project context and summary:

The mutation rate of phage T4 has been traditionally measured through fluctuation assays, by detecting mutations in specific genes confering an identiable phenotype. Yet such method is altogether not very accurate, cumbersome, and suffer from many bias. In this project we aim at determining the mutation rate of phage T4 by whole genome sequencing of a large number of individual plaques. This would provide the first genomic estimate of T4 phage mutation rate.
