Project context and summary: Mycoviruses are viruses (mainly RNA) that infect fungi. They are used as biocontrol agents and widely described in agriculture. But little is known about their role and potential applications in the medical field. Our aim is to detect Aspergillus fumigatus (responsible for human pathologies) mycoviruses in environmental strains from the Netherlands.
