we propose to study antibiotic response in natural isolates in various media. We focus on pathogenic extraintestinal Escherichia coli strains and started by determining their resistance and tolerance profiles. Antibiotic tolerance enables a population to survive antibiotic treatment for a longer duration without a resistance mechanism. We selected few strains and after determining their growth and and antibiotic response profiles we would like to have insights into the genetics mechanisms behind their higher survival.
