Chlamydia trachomatis is an intracellular pathogen which has lost several gene, including genes involved in DNA repair. We are characterizing a mutant strain that reverts easily to wild type upon antibiotic selection pressure. We hypothesize that the mutation makes the strain more suceptible to mutations, and want to test this hypothesis by whole genome sequencing.
