Changes in the intestinal microbial environment may come with drastic consequences for human’s health. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), that regroup Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis, is a complex disease that results from a combination of genetic and environmental factors, with a key role of the intestinal microbiota. It is characterized by chronic inflammation, altered intestinal permeability coupled to an imbalance in the composition of the intestinal microbiota, including in bacteria and their viruses, bacteriophages. In this study, we are interested in knowing whether intestinal phages can cross the intestinal barrier and reach the circulatory system in healthy individuals and in IBD patients
