Project context and summary: Environmental pollutants constitute selective pressures on ecosystems, particularly on microbial communities. The presence of these contaminants may contribute to the selection and dissemination of resistant bacteria and antibiotic resistance genes in the environment through bacterial adaptation mechanisms, including mutations and horizontal gene transfer.
The objective of this study is to characterize the resistome of marine sediments to understand the influence of anthopization on the resistome diversity and structure.
