Ribosomal RNAs carry multiple post-transcriptional modifications. We hypothesisze that certain modifications impact specific ribosome functions. We have constructed RNA modification gene variants with different activities and we will test whetehr they catalyze the modification, using Nanopore direct RNA sequencing.
