In the frame of a collaborative project to properly assign names and classification of cyanobacteria, we have undertaken the sequencing of the cyanobacteria of the collection Pasteur Cultures of Cyanobacteria. We sequenced about 400 strains and performed the first tree analysis. During this analysis, some genomes appeared to be frankly overcut, or under the expected size. We aim in this project to sequence 48 strains that we suspect to be of too bad quality to be released as such. As the technologies for library and sequencing have evolved a lot since our first round of sequencing, we aim to establish with nanopore technology better genomes for these strains that might represent species references for new taxon.
