Project context and summary: This new project follows on from Biomics 7214, a metagenomic inventory of protists in French soils, and is part of a collective project for a taxonomic inventory of biodiversity in French soils, initiated and funded by the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB) and led by INRAE Orléans.
Project 7214 was a pilot study involving 30 environmental DNA extracts from 30 sites in mainland France (29 + 1 to come). Sequences obtained using the standard procedure (chained PCR) were of average quality. Of the 32,316 ASVs obtained, the vast majority had very few reads (
