Project context and summary:

While SARS-CoV-2 variants of the Omicron lineage have proven much less pathogenic to mice than previous variants, even to mice transgenic for the human ACE2 receptor, we have identified mouse pedigrees in which infection with Omicron results in very high brain viral loads. The aim of the project is ton contribute to the characterization of this novel genetic susceptibility variant.
