We have develop protocols for isolating Streptomyces bacteriophages from soil samples collected all over the French territory. Our collection of phages has been phenotypically characterised and we have determined that they differentially infect diverse Streptomyces strains.
In order to further characterise this collection and carry out fundamental phage biology studies in this overlooked bacterial phylum, we seek to fully sequence their genome. This would allow us to shed light on some interesting observed phenotypes.
