This project aims to identify the main factors of prevalence, diversity and impact of phages on the phytopathogenic bacterium Pseudomonas syringae in apricot orchards in the PACA region, which are frequently affected by bacterial canker. Approaches include metagenomic analyses of the diversity and prevalence of phages in the agricultural landscape, environmental measurements, experimental studies with phages and bacteria in the laboratory, and the establishment of collections of candidate P. syringae phages for biocontrol.
